Every incident on this site starts as a radio transmission that anyone with a scanner could hear. Once it is transcribed and grouped into an incident, it also becomes a row of data: a time, a type, a rough location and the units that were sent. These monthly reports are what that data says about how Lubbock's police, fire and EMS calls actually fall across the day, the week and the city.
Nobody publishes this. Agencies release annual crime statistics, not a running count of what went out over the air last Tuesday at 2am. Because our numbers come from radio traffic rather than official call logs, they are a fair picture of dispatch activity and a poor picture of crime: calls that never reach the radio never reach us, and an initial report often turns out to be something else entirely. Read how it works before quoting any of it.
| October 2026 | 2205 incidents |
| September 2026 | 3796 incidents |
| August 2026 | 816 incidents |
The patterns page compares every call against the weather, the hour and the part of town, with honest margins on each result.
Each day also gets its own recap page with an hour-by-hour chart and the full log of what was heard.
Using these numbers in a story or a class project is fine. Please link back to the month page you took them from, and say that they come from scanner audio rather than an official source.
